WWOAF Is Building Resilience for the Charleston Lowcountry
In the Lowcountry, we look out for our neighbors. The Wild West Outdoor Adventure Foundation (WWOAF) is launching in the Charleston metro area to support that spirit. Our mission is to empower our community with life-saving skills, providing low-to-no-cost emergency and wilderness training so you can explore the coast and marshes with confidence. We are just getting started and need your help.
Teach Emergency Training in the Lowcountry
WWOAF empowers our community with vital emergency training, from Basic First Aid/CPR to advanced courses. We are seeking Charleston-area instructors with current certifications (EMT, Paramedic, First Aid/CPR Instructor) to join our team and help teach these life-saving skills.
Explore Wilderness Training from Francis Marion to the Coast
With the barrier islands, coastal waterways, and the vast Francis Marion National Forest at your fingertips, the Lowcountry is a prime destination for outdoor adventure. Our wilderness training is essential for the region’s paddlers, boaters, and anglers. We offer courses from basic survival to advanced Wilderness First Responder (WFR), built for anyone who works or plays in coastal environments. We are actively seeking local non-profits and community groups in Charleston to partner with to host these empowering courses.
Lead Supply & Gear Drives in Charleston, N. Charleston, & Mt. Pleasant
Our low-to-no-cost training is powered by resources from the community. We are looking for volunteer organizers in the Greater Charleston Area to run supply drives for essential medical and outdoor recreation gear (like backpacks and hiking shoes). These donated items directly offset costs for our students and ensure our volunteer instructors have the tools they need to teach.
